Cruising
December 2006
I had the opportunity to present the Hawaiian marine life lectures representing Maui
Ocean Center on two cruises
in December. I spent three
weeks on the cruise ship sailing around the Hawaiian Islands and to
Fanning Island! Mom joined me for the first 10 day cruise and then Neil
will joined me for the first part of the 11
day cruise. Unfortunately Neil left the ship after three days to fly to
Iowa to be with his father at his passing.
I presented on the four days we were at sea on the way to and back from
Fanning Island. The talks went well and had good attendance.
The rest of the time I was able to enjoy the ship and excursions with
the rest of the passengers. We had a really wonderful time and I hope
to be able to do it again next year!
Can you see me standing in front of the ship? Pretty
big boat!
Our cabin was lower deck forward on the other side of the ship.
What a life!
Three salt water pools on upper decks. Often outdoor
lunch BBQs and evening entertainment on deck.
Interesting to be on a ship (10 stories above the water!) and looking
at our home island of Maui!
