Neil and I dove three days in Vanuatu. The first day was on the north side of Efate Island. The dives were fantastic with 150 foot visibility (see Vanuatu2 page). The next two days were on the south side outside the Port Vila harbor. We did two wreck dives and two reef dives in the harbor. Not quite as good of visibility but some wonderful fish and corals.
Neil's favorite fish has to be the Clown Anemonefish (not found in Hawaii because we don't have Sea Anemones). The clowns live in the anemone which stings other fish but Anemonefish have a special mucus coating to avoid the stings. At first they are brave trying to chase you away, then they get nervous and dart down into the tentacles of the anemone for protection.
Two different types of soft corals.
Some fish are good at hiding and camouflage
The Konanda wreck was sunk in 1987
for divers in Port Vila Harbor.
We did some canyon diving.
